Vantag ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal finance and expense tracking app that converts your spending into working hours. We take your financial privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Information You Provide

When you use Vantag, you may provide the following information:

• Name — Used to personalize your experience within the app.
• Expense data — Amounts, descriptions, dates, and categories of your expenses. This data is stored locally on your device.
• Category preferences — Your custom expense categories and settings.
• Currency preference — Your selected currency for expense tracking.

All of your financial data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Your expense data never leaves your device except as described below in the AI Features section.

AI-Powered Features

Vantag offers AI-powered automatic expense categorization using third-party AI services (OpenAI GPT-4o and Google Gemini). When you use this feature:

• Your expense descriptions are sent to the AI service to suggest a category.
• Only the expense description text is sent — no personally identifiable information, amounts, or account details are included.
• AI categorization suggestions are not guaranteed to be accurate and should be reviewed by you.

Receipt Scanning (OCR)

Vantag includes a receipt scanning feature that uses optical character recognition (OCR) to extract information from receipts. All OCR processing happens locally on your device. Receipt images are not uploaded to any external server.

Information Collected Automatically

• Firebase Analytics — We collect anonymous usage analytics to understand how features are used and to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
• Crash reports — Automatically collected to help us identify and fix technical issues.
• RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your subscription status through Apple. We do not have access to your payment details.
• Frankfurter API — Currency exchange rates are fetched from the Frankfurter API. No personal data is sent in these requests.

Information We Do Not Collect

Vantag does not collect:

• Bank account information
• Credit or debit card numbers
• Location data
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Contacts or address book information

Data Storage

Your financial data (expenses, categories, preferences) is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers to store your personal or financial data. Third-party services used:

• Firebase — Anonymous analytics and crash reporting.
• RevenueCat — Subscription management through Apple's payment infrastructure.
• Frankfurter API — Exchange rate data only (no personal data transmitted).

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal or financial information with third parties. Anonymous analytics data is processed by Firebase and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Security

Your financial data is stored securely on your device using Apple's built-in data protection. We recommend keeping your device passcode enabled and your operating system up to date to maintain optimal security.

Children's Privacy

Vantag is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete all app data by uninstalling Vantag from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
